Akira Miyoshi

First it studied French literature at the University of Tokyo. After 4 years he noticed 1955 the fact that he had time remaining for composing, got a scholarship and changed therefore to the Conservatoire Superieure in Paris, where he studied with Henri Dutilleux. It graduated after its return to Japan 1957.

Already 1953 it with its Sonata for Clarinet, Bassoon, and Piano the first price with the 22nd Japan music Contest won. Numerous works were provided in Japan and Europe with honors and prices, so among other things1954 the kind festival graduation Prize of the Agency OF Cultural Affairs, the Italia Prize, the 3rd Otaka Prize and the palm Académique of the French government. From 1954 to 1995 he was a president of the Toho Gakuen University now is he manager of the Tokyo metropolitan festival resounds.

In March 1999 its first opera Faraway Sail went - (Hasekura Tsunenaga) with large success into premiere. This work was distinguished with the price of the Suntory music Foundation.
